Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of muscular pain and tightness. Using various soft tissue techniques we restore mobility, function and reduce pain. Myotherapy treats specific musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction is are caused by various trigger points or fascia (connective tissue) in the body. After careful assessment your Myotherapist will decide which course of action is required for your problem.
Myotherapists use different techniques such as massage, dry needling, cupping and fascial release to treat the musculoskeletal system. Massage is a highly effective way to treat soft tissue in the body and combined with other techniques you can achieve optimal results.
A Myotherapy initial appointment will include taking a brief history of your health along with assessment of your range of movement, your Myotherapist will then discuss their findings so you understand what is happening to your body. You will then receive some hands on treatment using the techniques mentioned above. At the end of the session the therapist will reassess you then give you corrective exercises and advice to manage your issue better at home in-between treatments.
